Wade Hampton Gardens Lifeguard
Summary: The primary responsibility as a lifeguard is to prevent drowning and other injuries from occurring. Candidates must be able to ensure the safety of patrons by minimizing or eliminating hazardous situations or behaviors. Lifeguards must be able to enforce pool policies and be able to communicate effectively why pool policies are in place.
Qualifications: current lifeguard and CPR certifications
Pay:
$12/hour — starting
$13/hour — 1 year experience
$14/hour — 2 years’ experience
$15/hour — 3+ years’ experience
Primary duties:
preventing accidents
enforcing pool rules
responding to emergencies
providing first aid
Lifeguards must:
Arrive on time
Communicate availability to scheduling personnel
Conduct themselves professionally
Be decisive and proactive about communication, maintaining discipline, and prioritizing work
Be able to perform manual labor such as climbing, lifting, carrying, pushing, pulling, and moving objects
Be constantly alert and ready to assist swimmers in the pool and on deck
Enforce all rules fairly, consistently, and courteously
Develop and maintain friendly relationship with members and guests
Clean and maintain the pool deck and shelter area
Clean and maintain restrooms
Work with manager to maintain pool color, chemistry, clarity, and cleanliness. This will involve working with the pool chemicals, the pumphouse, brushes, and vacuum. Training will be provided.
Complete daily checklists
Inform Manager when supplies are needed and if equipment is not in proper condition
